I spent only a single day at the Itamambuca Eco Resort which, however, was among the most rewarding experiences during my stay in Brazil. The locality is an excellent site to see many of the Atlantic rainforest birds, close to a beautiful beach, and is very professionally managed with trails into the forest. We were lucky enough to even spot a sloth on the area, and the warm and hearty welcome of Dimitri Matoszko, the director of the resort, made this an extremely pleasant day.

Itamambuca Eco Resort was an amazing selection for me, and I am glad I chose it as my choice for a place-of-visit. The wealth of birdlife, other wildlife and plant-life, and the fact that we were able to view them, in the wild, from within the comforts of the resort, was a stunning, comfortable and overall enjoyable experience. It gave me a great taste of the biodiversity that Brazil has to offer and I am pleased to be asked to comment, and thus help this most worthwhile cause.

The room and surrounding are nice and clean. Bird- feeder positions are appropriate and attract different kind of birds. I like board walk very much, it leads to various type of habitat, and can enjoy diversity of plants. Breakfast at your place was the best in term of both diversity and quality.
The staff are friendly which is very important. Last but not least, we have impression on you, the owner who concern and care for the surrounding nature. Thank you for taking care of nature for us to appreciate.

The birding around Itamambuca Eco Resort was truly wonderful, as were the very helpful staff. The ability to see birds in river, ocean and forest habitats makes this spot particularly worth visiting. I was particularly impressed with the bird diversity on the short forest hike right in front of the main lodge - truly astounding with tanagers, piculets, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, and more! My only wish is that I could have stayed longer!

For those who like to photograph nature and birds in particular, Ubatuba is a top destination. The region is an ecological paradise, where on one side, is the Atlantic Ocean, with some of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil and on the other side the Atlantic forest, lush and well preserved, home to an incredible biodiversity. To enjoy these beauties, nothing like staying at Itamambuca Eco Resort, a comfortable hotel, located in a privileged area, surrounded by nature and the beautiful Itamambuca beach.
To photograph or just observe birds, Itamambuca Eco Resort is a reference in the region as the hotel has an area of preserved forest with paths that allow direct contact with hundreds of bird species, without having to walk long distances. In some points were placed "feeders", where some species of birds come to eat fruit making it even easier the observation and photography.
Whenever I visit Ubatuba I am staying here especially after I discovered that the hotel owner is a great photographer and passionate about the birds which makes our stay more enjoyable for long talks about our winged friends.

The Itamambuca Eco Resort is a partner since the early days of birdwatching. Even before being included in the municipal administration, its owner has insisted on candidates for mayor that looked more closely at this opportunity by quality tourism to the low seasons in the city.
The Itamambuca took seriously the project UbatubaBirds and became a reference in the deployment of birdwatching for the entire welcoming of the city and region, beyond that, is unrestricted collaborator of our work on environmental education in schools. Spending the day watching birds at Itamambuca Eco Resort is assurance of delight and joy by meeting the variety of birds in the place. There are over 200 reasons (bird species) to visit and learn.

Fascinating! This is a very appropriate word to define the Itamambuca Eco Resort. I was privileged to know the place and I was really fascinated. It was a little time of birds, but in this short time we heard the ultra rare black-back-apuim (Touit melanonotus). And besides being great for birdwatching is a perfect place to take the family too. So as fast as I can, I will return to Ubatuba and, without doubt, the Itamambuca is the best place to stay.

Itamambuca Eco Resort is a place that brings many advantages for those who want birds with ease and comfort. The owner is a sailor and bird photographer in his spare time, so employees of the resort are trained to not disturb and if possible to help the observers and photographers. Various feeders have a dry twig beside the fruit, to make life easier for those who want to shoot birds in more natural poses.
The resort's location also helps a lot: it is near a large forest area in Ubatuba. The small-dove-hawk is frequently seen on tree twigs, within the resort, and the black-back-apuim and the anambezinho appear in the window seat of the manor. A small stream crosses the resort, and Dimitri himself has created a great boat for photographers stroll in comfort: Rivercat, quiet and stable, where I photographed my first and only vite-vite, the pogo-stick-river, the anambezinho, king-woodpecker, and listened, but could not see the star-flycatcher.
Besides all the advantages for those who want to see and photograph, the resort also has great structure: restaurant, pool, calhambike, programming for children, spa, games room. The Itamambuca Eco Resort is a great option, especially for those who need to reconcile family and hobbies.

For me it was a nice surprise to see so many interesting species at Itamambuca Eco Resort. Altogether about 120 species in a weekend. In fact, Itamambuca is very special.
The boat trip on the river Itamambuca, very early on Sunday, with the versatile and admirable Wandel - nine earned incredible addition to the list of local birds.
I want to thank the reception and say that my wife and daughter also came out talking wonders of Eco Resort. They certainly enjoyed every minute.

Itamambuca is a special place that maintains the exuberant nature of the coast, preserved not only as fragments, but as the landscape. Here we see the Itamambuca River, its banks, sandbars and mangroves around. I know only few places in the region that joined the landscape with ingenuity. Itamambuca has a functional design combined with a worldview linked to conservation and harmony with nature.
Besides the lush landscape and well kept, there are good tracks, well organized that allow the visitor to be immersed in the riparian vegetation, always with an efficient signaling and describes in detail its inhabitants: crabs, birds, plants and everything else.
The accommodation is very comfortable, the food is very good and the resort offers a beautiful beach, sports equipment, kayaking and many other fine attractions, even for non-birdwatchers Itamambuca is a unique, well-preserved remnant of a biome rich in biodiversity and beauty.

The Itamambuca Eco Resort, in Ubatuba, SP, is an impressive site. The wildness, coupled with a great diversity of fauna actually present, forms a contrast with the comfort and tranquility offered.

When we were for the first time at Itamambuca Eco Resort in January 2009, I did not expect to find even a fraction of the interest in nature and photography that I found. Ubatuba was on my agenda for some time, due to the beauty of the place, especially for the diversity of their birds.
When choosing a place to stay, I initially weighed comfort, leisure facilities and the beach, so my wife and my daughter would not get bored while I was nestling in the woods ... So coming to Itamambuca brought the surprise: you would not have to leave there to find the charm and variety of birds of Ubatuba. In addition, counting still on Dimitri’s company, more than enthusiastic and kind, who - in addition to directing the place - is also passionate about bird photography! Feeders, track, trip on the river, all this added up, is what most a bird photographer wants.
Maybe that's why I'm back there several times since then and that’s why we made two workshops on bird photography at Itamambuca, both a success, due to the hospitality of the place and the exuberance of its nature.
Finally, a compelling place to be part of the plans for any serious bird lover.

I can only say that the visit was too short! Nevertheless, I could feel the considerable wealth of the the reserve of Itamambuca, especially for an European! Congratulations!

Ubatuba is a special city. But for those who like to observe / photograph birds, is very special. In addition to hundreds of species of birds, it houses very cool people and locations for this practice.
Itamambuca, one of the best beaches in Brazil for surfing, is also one of the hot-points of Ubatuba for birdwatching. In the right corner of the beach stands the Itamambuca Eco Resort. Place where have already been registered more than two hundred species of birds, and where you can easily see beautiful tanagers, Ties, woodpeckers, cuttlefish, hawks, hummingbirds, and shorebirds no less interesting. I was at the resort with my family, and while I was shooting with Dimitri (owner of the resort, which shares strong interest in photography of birds) my wife and son were having a good time, riding bicycles, going to the pool, playroom and other attractions, all with complete safety. One of the things I liked most was the catamaran ride across the river Itamambuca. Dimitri himself drove the boat and is thus very interesting photograph. It was my first experiment of this nature, and only to this day. I remember I made pretty pictures – Trogon-viridis, the heron-ox-painted, among others.
Concluding the Itamambuca Eco Resort is one of the sites strongly recommended to anyone at Ubatuba with the intention of observing or photographing birds. We will surely bring beautiful images from there, and your family will have a great time.

Beyond being a safe place and very beautiful, Itamambuca Eco Resort is undoubtedly a great place to watch and photograph birds in Ubatuba. In addition to the feeders, is possible to see some of the beautiful species of the Atlantic Forest at a suspended trail and on a tour by Itamambuca River.

The administration of the resort is to be congratulated! It is a therapy to be able to enjoy nature and beauty of the place through the camera that stands on the feeding of birds.

There are so much green around that it does not seem that it is next to the beach - to arrive there is necessary to walk through a footpath that crosses the hotel sandbank area, replete of different kinds of crabs.
